The Connecting Point to Eternity

Do you have a "Connecting Point" to Eternity? That may sound like a strange question, but no question could be more important to your life. Evolutionary scientists are totally ignorant of this matter. Or it is nonsense in their world-view. But YEHOVAH God Almighty, the Creator of all things, including human life on this planet, has a Plan which He is working out here below, a Plan which involves you and your destiny.

Although we were created out of the dust of the ground, physical, human, and given a life-span of some seventy years, more or less, and then we die -- "for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return" (Gen.3:19) -- YEHOVAH God has something more in plan for mankind. He created us in His own divine image and likeness, unlike all the other animals and plants on the earth. YEHOVAH said, "Let us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness" (Gen.1:26). Man was given dominion to rule the creation. YEHOVAH continued: "And let them have DOMINION . . . over ALL the earth" (same verse).

YEHOVAH God's Plan is for mankind to eventually qualify to enter His eternal ever-living, ever-ruling Kingdom, as His very own "sons." But in order to do that, at some point in our lives we must "connect" with YEHOVAH God -- otherwise, like Adam and Eve, our eventual fate is to "return to dust," from when we were taken. To die. To cease to exist. How can we "connect" with YEHOVAH God, so that we can inherit eternal life and glory, in His Kingdom?

There is only ONE WAY. It is, as the apostle Paul stated, "the way which they call heresy" in the eyes of the world (Acts 24:14). The religious establishment of his time put him on trial because, as he said, "Men and brethren . . . of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question" (Acts 23:6). Even in his day many did not believe in an after-life, or resurrection (verse 7). Nevertheless, the Word of YEHOVAH God is sure and plain, and His promises are clear. All mankind is lost in lawlessness, and has turned from the Torah -- the Laws -- of YEHOVAH God, and His Way, His revelation. To pay the price for our sins -- transgressions of His divine Law -- YEHOVAH selected the man Yeshua to be His agent. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish [die], but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:16-18).

According to the Scriptures, "There is none righteous, no, not one" (Rom.3:10). "For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (verse 23). As the prophet Isaiah wrote: "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:6). Speaking and prophesying of the Messiah, the coming Anointed One, Isaiah declared: "Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for OUR transgressions, he was bruised for OUR iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (verses 4-5).

The apostle Paul wrote, "And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ [Yeshua the Messiah], not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" (II Cor.5:18-21).

How plain it is! YESHUA THE MESSIAH is our "Connecting Point" to eternal life! This truth is so plain in the Scriptures, and so profound, that we ought to meditate over it, and deeply, profoundly consider it, in our minds. Salvation and eternal life can ONLY come through Yeshua, the Messiah, the Anointed One of YEHOVAH God, selected by the Father to reconcile the world to Himself. The religious leaders of Peter's time persecuted the apostles because "they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead" (Acts 4:2). But Peter and the apostles were not deterred. Peter boldly proclaimed, "This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). No other name -- no other "Connecting Point"!

The way to salvation is very clear. To "connect" with YEHOVAH God the Father, and to be reconciled to Him, we must approach Him through the sacrifice of Yeshua our Messiah and Saviour. To do this, we must not only come to believe, deeply, that he IS the Messiah and our Saviour, the Son of YEHOVAH God, but we must also REPENT of our sins, our trespasses and transgressions of YEHOVAH's Law, of living our lives in disobedience to His instruction manual, the Scriptures, and we must ACCEPT the Messiah as our Saviour, and then we must BE BAPTIZED -- immersed under water, plunged into water -- as an outward manifestation of our statement of belief and conviction. When the Jews heard Peter preaching boldly about the Messiah having died for our sins, that we in a sense "crucified" him, they were appalled at their own sense of guilt, and cried, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" Peter replied: "REPENT, and be BAPTISED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and [then] ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38).

Repentance of sin, acceptance of the Messiah in true conviction, and then baptism in water, as a testimony of our repentance, turning from sin, and accepting the Messiah, brings us to the real "connecting point" where YEHOVAH God literally connects with us through His holy spirit! As Peter said, "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Spirit, which God hath given to them that obey him" (Acts 5:30-32).

Have you received YEHOVAH's holy spirit -- the Ruach Ha Kodesh? YEHOVAH God only gives His holy spirit to those who repent, accept the Messiah, turn from their sins, are baptised, and who OBEY HIM -- who begin to live from that point in their lives onward according to His "Torah" -- His Word, Instructions, Laws, and commandments! As Yeshua said himself, quoting the Old Testament Scriptures, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matt. 4:4).

How important is "baptism"? Yeshua commanded, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you . . ." (Matt. 28:19-20). He himself went through the process of baptism, setting us an example, that we should follow his steps (I Pet. 2:21; I John 2:6). Notice! "Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Matt. 3:13-17).

When we confess our sins and transgressions, and are truly baptized, YEHOVAH God promises to give us His holy spirit -- our "Connecting Point" to Him -- and to eternal life. As Paul wrote, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death" (Rom. 8:1-2). Paul went on, "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be IN you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is LIFE because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies BY HIS SPIRIT that dwelleth in you" (Rom. 8:9-11).

YEHOVAH God gives us His spirit, as a begettal, as a "down payment," as it were, and it joins and unites with our mind, and like a seed, begins to grow in us, forming YEHOVAH's own character and righteousness within us, as we study His Word, and begin to put obedience into practice in our lives. As Paul wrote, "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the EARNEST OF OUR INHERITANCE until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory" (Eph. 1:13-14).

One we receive this holy spirit from YEHOVAH God, a miracle of divine re-birth, of a new begettal, we become literally "his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Eph.2:10). Now, as Paul says, we are to "put off concerning the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye PUT ON THE NEW MAN, which after God [after His likeness and spiritual character image] is created in righteousness and true holiness" (Eph. 4:22-24).

As we grow, and journey down the Christian trail, and climb the rugged peaks of spiritual overcoming, we develop godly, righteous, holy character, becoming more and more like Yeshua the Messiah himself in every way. As Paul wrote, "My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be FORMED IN YOU" (Gal. 4:19). Now we must "put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof" (Rom. 13:14). Now we are NEW SPIRITUAL BEINGS, begotten by YEHOVAH's holy spirit, the spirit of the Father and of the Messiah -- the very same spirit they possess! But if we succumb to sin and temptation, we can "grieve" the holy spirit within us. Paul exhorts us, "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption" (Eph. 4:30). If we are not careful, we can quench it -- douse it -- put out its "fire." Paul declared, therefore, "Quench not the Spirit" (I Thess. 5:19). The apostle urges us to "STIR UP the gift of God, which is in thee . . . For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (II Tim. 1:6-7).

Do you have YEHOVAH's holy spirit within you, as a begettal? Have you been baptized? Have you taken the first step on the road to salvation and eternal life? Have you reached the "Connecting Point" of salvation and immortal life?

Don't deceive yourself. Don't put it off. These are not mere academic questions. The apostle John wrote, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God" (I John 5:11-13).

The apostle Peter declares, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant grace hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" (I Peter 1:3-5).

We are, if we are converted and have received YEHOVAH's holy spirit, now "begotten" of YEHOVAH God as His very own children, in the "womb" of the spiritual body of the Messiah, which is the "Church" of YEHOVAH God, the "mother of us all" (Gal. 4:26). We now have received the "beginning" or "earnest" of our inheritance, only. But we will BECOME completely spirit beings, sons of YEHOVAH God, at the coming of the Messiah and YEHOVAH God the Father, the resurrection, when we will receive our full "inheritance." At that time, we will be fully "BORN of God" as members of His own divine Family. But in the meantime, we are begotten of Him, and growing in His likeness and character. As John wrote, "We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not" (I John 5:18).

What about you? Have you yet gotten "connected" with YEHOVAH God? Have you received YEHOVAH's holy spirit as a begettal? Have you gotten spiritually "plugged in" yet? Or are you wasting time, "on hold," spiritually, going around in circles, putting off the most important, vital, urgent decision of your life-time?

Or are you like a lamp's electric cord, lying on the floor, for somebody to trip over -- but not plugged in to the electrical socket and therefore having "no juice," no spiritual Power, because you are disconnected from the Power Source? Are you kidding yourself, whiling away precious time, ignoring the urgency of the times? As the apostle Paul said, "Behold, NOW is the accepted time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation" (II Cor. 6:2). Are you like governor Felix, before whom Paul testified of "righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come"? We read of this remarkable individual, "Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a more convenient season, I will call for thee" (Acts 24:25).

Think it over. There is only ONE way of salvation. Yeshua the Messiah came to reveal the way. He said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers [all the false religions and their leaders]: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:7-10).

Yeshua the Messiah is the ONLY "door" to eternal life. He is the "door of the sheep." All other "doors" or "gates" are fake, fraud, fraudulent -- impostors, shills, deceivers, false prophets, and counterfeits.

Yeshua the Messiah is the ONLY One who has power to send YEHOVAH's holy spirit -- and to give it to you. Yeshua the Messiah declared, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall send you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth . . . he [it] dwelleth with you, and shall be IN you" (John 14:16-17).

Yeshua added, "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into ALL truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come" (John 16:13).

Yeshua the Messiah is the only true "Connecting Point," and only through him can you receive the holy spirit of YEHOVAH God, the "Connecting Point" which He promised. Have you been plugged into the "Connecting Point" to Eternity?
