Same-Sex Marriages

It seems as though the homosexual and lesbian communities have currently initiated a drive to gain acceptance. In speaking to average acquaintances, most people will recognize that there are very few (the percentage is quite minimal) people who may be involved in such an unscriptural lifestyle. Yet, these individuals are constantly pushing themselves forward to gain more exposure in the news media. They imagine that more exposure in the news media will bring more favor and tolerance from the public.

Again, we reiterate the position that this ministry has taken regarding homosexuality and lesbianism: These people are the creation of Almighty YEHOVAH. Nevertheless, He created them male and female and did not intend for them to engage in such conduct. YEHOVAH loves the sinner, but He hates the sin! Therefore, He calls upon all those who are engaging in such conduct to repent and turn from their evil ways. In the Bible, He has given examples of the judgment He has employed in the past, such as the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 18 and 19, and the war that was fought in Israel against the Benjamites who supported homosexuality (Judges 19-21). The tribe of Benjamin was almost completely decimated in that war.

Hear what YEHOVAH's prophet declares on this subject:

"The show of their countenance does witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe to their soul! For they have done evil to themselves. Say to the righteous, that it shall be well with him; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him; for what his hands have done shall be done to him. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they that lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths." (Isaiah 3:9-12).

"Woe to him that gives his neighbor drink, to you that add your venom, and make him drunken also, that you may look on their nakedness! You are filled with shame, and not glory: you drink also, and be as one uncircumcised; the cup of Yahweh's right hand shall come around to you, and foul shame shall be upon your glory." (Habakkuk 2:15-16).

President George Bush and many Republicans have opposed the acceptance of same-sex marriages; therefore, they have determined to enact an amendment to the Constitution which defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The politicians are straddling the issue and, while they may insist that they are opposed to same-sex marriages, they do not want to have the same-sex marriage amendment so they can appease the gay community and get their votes. However, this violates the rights of the majority of people who reject such a sinful lifestyle.
